DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work requires a nutritionist skilled in providing nutrition assessment and counseling through individual contacts, group education and staff consultation for patients in health center clinics, as well as patients referred from private physicians. Must be able to quickly assess nutrition-related problems and determine medical eligibility of patients applying for the WIC Program (caseload of 915). Assist with health promotion activities for community groups/schools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition with ADA registration eligibility preferred; OR graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, public health nutrition, or dietetics and one year of nutrition experience; OR completion of an ADA approved dietetic internship with ADA registration eligibility preferred.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Work requires a valid N.C. Driver's License, occasional use of personal car, attendance at some evening and out of town meetings, and some night or weekend work for community programs.

STARTING SALARY: $ 28,143.00 -- $ 45,826.00 – commensurate with experience
