Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Dietetics Program @ Univ. of Northern Colorado

Job Summary:
Assistant Professor, tenure track, full-time, 9 month appointment in the School of Human Sciences within the college of Natural and Health Sciences. Responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate on-campus and online courses in an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics as well as in a proposed B.S. Nutrition degree program; student advisement, service in professional organizations and on campus committees; scholarly activity in areas of dietetics including publication and grant writing.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a doctoral degree in foods, nutrition or related field (ABD status will be considered; however, degree completion is required for appointment to this tenure-track position beginning August 16, 2010); Dietetic Registration; evidence of successful teaching experience (faculty or TA) at college/university level or experience providing in-service education to physicians/other health care providers.

Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings, have practical experience in area of expertise such as foods, nutrition or other related areas, evidence of potential for successful scholarly activity including grant writing, be willing to advise students, show evidence of activity in professional organizations and membership in The American Dietetic Association. Experience with collaborative/outreach partnerships on a campus and surrounding community is desirable.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position. Opportunities for summer instruction may be available.

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
