OVERVIEW
The Assessment Manager will be expected to perform advanced professional work requiring specialized analytical knowledge of health and behavior related topics for all ages. Individual will plan and assist in the development and analysis of studies related to health promotion and disease prevention issues; including study design, protocol development, study implementation, preliminary and final data analysis, interpretation, report writing and presentation of study results. The position will involve public speaking and pro-active, collaborative efforts to affect health status through dissemination of scientifically based knowledge, surveillance and evaluation. The position will work with a variety of stakeholders in leading and supporting ongoing analytical efforts, as well as providing technical expertise in, evaluation and survey methods and applications.

RESPONSBILITIES
In carrying out the basic function of this position, the Assessment Manager performs the following functions and delegates supporting tasks to the appropriate team member
1. Will be responsible for assisting in the development of and/or refining of theoretical concepts as directed; designing and implementing surveillance/evaluation studies following new or standardized scientific policies/protocols, conducting program evaluations, coordinating evaluation/research studies, collecting, analyzing and evaluating data, and communicating results concisely; including the generation of scientific publications, public health reports and presentations of completed work as directed to staff, board, partners and funders.
2. Will be responsible for all assigned phases of scientific knowledge, evaluation, and research assuring the application of scientific and/or standardized protocols, including problem exploration, study protocol development; design of data collection tools; oversight of data collection, transmission, entry and analysis of data; interpretation of findings and reporting of results in both written and oral format.
3. Will assist in the coordination of regional areas and with external collaborators to develop and implement study protocols and all other analytical work such as program evaluation, needs assessment, survey development, measurement tool development and report writing.
4. Will be responsible for keeping abreast of current knowledge in health, physical activity promotion and disease prevention by conducting scientific literature searches and reviews, utilizing multiple sources of electronic and hardcopy journal articles, textbooks and communication with experts.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Health Metrics and Evaluation, Public Health Informatics, Health or Clinical Informatics or other related field and 3-5 years of relevant work experience in assessment and evaluation. An individual with the equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the same level of knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Demonstrated assessment, project administration and evaluation skills are essential. To be successful in this position, it is essential to have the ability to positively represent the organization and its mission with various stakeholders. Individual must be flexible, creative, self-starting, highly organized and team-oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required and the ability to successfully interact with individuals at all levels is essential. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced high-energy environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
