Job Description
This position will provide leadership in working with university research faculty to develop educational programs and materials related to their scientific findings and then train county Extension educators to present the programs to their audiences. Collaborate with the department head, other F&N Extension specialists and using the appropriate collaborative support systems with F&N faculty to develop educational materials related to the signature areas of the department. Provide subject matter technical expertise to these groups. Develop educational programs, presentations, website information and supporting materials (new releases, fact sheets, etc.) Serve on a state Extension assessment team that determines priorities for subject matter programming. Based on the determined priorities, programs will be developed in collaboration with departmental faculty. Develop educator guides to be used in training other extension staff. Organize video conferences for Extension staff for various subject matters. Video conferences may be organized to distribute information to provide updates on topics of interest or interactions with consultants from state agencies, commodity boards, and other organizations with an interest in nutrition education. Regularly meet with and be evaluated by the department head with input from the Extension program leader. Stay current with the latest research-based information in the departmental signature areas as well as issues such as food safety and nutrition-related chronic disease.


Qualifications Required:
• MS or MPH in nutrition, public health or dietetics.
• Three years of nutrition and health related work experience.
• Ability to work with a team and to develop multi-disciplinary collaborations essential.
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to plan, prepare, pilot test and assist in the evaluation of educational programs and interventions.
• Ability to work with academic faculty to research the effectiveness and impact of educational programs.

Preferred:
• Registered Dietitian credential.
• Cooperative Extension experience and experience communicating with the general public.
