community garden coordinator position

We’re looking for a Community Garden Coordinator. The person hired will coordinate an educational program focused on the development of three community gardens in low-income communities in Durham, Bertie and Cumberland Counties. The Coordinator will assist Extension Specialists in the design, development and implementation of a curriculum that seeks to achieve positive outcomes with respect to family food security, diet and nutrition, youth entrepreneurial engagement, parenting and community development. Specific responsibilities of the Coordinator include the following: 1) coordinate development of community gardens at the target sites; 2) develop local teams comprised of Extension faculty, staff from local community-based organizations and interested individuals; 3) develop a community garden toolkit; 4) facilitate scheduling and delivery of educational programming by participating university faculty; 5) assist in project evaluation; and 6) assist in community garden development efforts at additional sites.
